Introducing...Emily Larson from International Positive Education Network
WHAT IS YOUR COMPANY?
International Positive Education Network (IPEN)
WHY WAS IT SET UP?
IPEN promotes a new vision of education that focuses on teaching academics + character and well-being. We believe that the new century demands new skills from our students and the classroom is the perfect place to instill students not just with maths, reading and writing but also grit, resilience, and character. IPEN is a network that acts like a big tent, bringing together all the interested parties from researchers and educators to policy makers to start a paradigm shift in the education system.
WHAT IS THE BIGGEST THING YOU HAVE LEARNT ALONG THE WAY?
You can learn a lot by listening.
WHERE DO YOU WANT TO TAKE YOUR COMPANY / PROJECT NEXT?
IPEN is looking forward to hosting the World's Largest Festival of Positive Education in Dallas, Texas. Together with a large group of dedicated individuals we will collectively decide what IPEN 2.0 should look like.
HOW CAN PEOPLE GET INVOLVED?
You can sign our manifesto to join in the movement at www.ipositive-education.net/movement/. Or come to the Festival where the real magic will happen www.ipen-festival.com.
WHY DID YOU JOIN EDSPACE?
To be a part of a cutting edge community in education innovation.
WHAT CAN YOU TEACH? (ANYTHING YOU ARE SKILLED AT OR PASSIONATE ABOUT)
As a side project I have trained teachers and students from around the World in positive education - topics such as gratitude, meditation/mindfulness, character strengths, positive communication, growth mindset, optimism, and general well-being practices.
