"The art project Hidden Curriculum revolves around the question how high school students understand, engage with, and ultimately investigate a so-called hidden curriculum in their specific everyday school environment. In the context of this project, the term 'hidden curriculum' has been understood as everything that is learned in school next to the official curriculum."
Artist Annette Kraus runs workshops with students to surface and play with existing norms, showing creative ways of navigating institutional structures. Through a series of activities such as a comparison of ‘secret structures’ between different schools, or playing with routine and creating new ways of moving round a space and interacting with students and teachers by switching around lockers, or moving all the plants to block a corridor.
The work allows students to reflect on their actions in order to act independently and think creatively.
