We are looking for a dynamic, dedicated and supremely organised Operations Manager who can be the day-to-day face of Edspace for the community, and ensure our operation runs like clockwork.

About the Role
Reporting directly to the Managing Director, the ideal candidate for this role will be a dynamic, dedicated and supremely organised Operations Manager who can be the day-to-day face of Edspace for the community, and ensure our operation runs like clockwork.
For the entrepreneurs who have made Edspace their home, the small stuff matters as much as the big stuff. We get that. Unless the space’s AV system is reliable, that perfect pitch deck is of little use. If you have a major client in for a meeting and you can’t offer them a piping hot plunger of coffee (forget instant, we’re purists!), things may get off on the wrong foot.
The job of the Operations Manager is to ensure the right measures are in place so that no-one has to sweat the small stuff. And so we can all focus on changing education for the good - safe in the knowledge that there will always be a reliable supply of good coffee (or herbal tea, if that’s your thing).
As Operations Manager, here are some of the key outcomes you’ll be responsible for delivering:
You are a helpful and reliable face of Edspace who leads on day-to-day operations and ensures all operational systems - from stock ordering to events management - are watertight
You are highly responsive and efficient in managing the day-to-day operational needs of the community - both in terms of effective problem solving and in terms of managing relationships with tenants in a way which is helpful and professional at all times
You are an excellent host and ambassador for the space
You are able to juggle the competing demands of responding to unexpected operations requests while also pursuing proactive operations projects as we seek to constantly improve the experience we offer Edspace members
You are happy to roll-up your sleeves with whatever needs to be done to ensure the space runs smoothly - from casting a daily eye over the space to pre-empt any potential problems, to liaising with external cleaning and maintenance providers, to organising our weekly community breakfasts
The ideal candidate for this role would possess the following skills and attributes:
A real passion for operational efficiency and understanding of what it means to nurture a community
Experience of operations management (stock ordering, events management, administration) is essential
Be exceptionally well-organised and detail-oriented
Have impeccable customer service skills and be adept at relationship management
Feel motivated by Edspace’s mission to change education for good, and committed to playing your part in achieving it
Be comfortable with and excited by tech – we make use of multiple technologies like Slack, Notion and Trello – and you’ll be excited by the challenge of seeking out ways in which tech could further support our operational efficiency
Be hungry for a challenging role which involves busy days, managing multiple stakeholders and constantly reprioritising proactive and reactive tasks
Be comfortable getting stuck in with whatever needs to be done to keep the space functioning optimally every day - from hosting and managing events, to emptying the dishwasher in the morning if needed
Previous experience of a start-up environment is desirable - ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment is essential
